Gabriel presented his research in the progress talk before the IES, concluding his Ph.D! The topic of the work is The multidimensional aspects of drought and elevated CO2 impact on crops: scaling up from leaf to canopy by proximal and remote sensing.

Yedidya presented TomAI-Sense project at Shared Impact 2026 in Jerusalem. His poster was placed 3rd among 50 pre-selected best posters. This event was the first annual conference of Yissum, held on Monday, June 22, 2026, at the Givat Ram campus of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

​Taking place in the covered courtyard of the Brain Sciences building, the competition highlighted outstanding research with strong potential for innovation, commercial application, and real-world impact. During the session, Yedidya pitched our AI-based, non-destructive tomato quality sensing system to panels of senior judges and industry leaders from academia, entrepreneurship, and venture capital.

Our Green Wall project was recently covered by The Jerusalem Post! The article highlights how our work combines plant science and technology to develop smart indoor green walls that can monitor plant health and optimize growing conditions in real time.

The famous Green Wall keeps receiving media coverage. High-profile media outlets have posted articles about it, including MSN, Scienmag, Eurasia Review, and TechXplore. 

The publications highlight a new web-based platform, VertINGreen, that uses remote sensing and machine learning to turn indoor green walls into intelligent systems that can be precisely planned and monitored in real time. The system predicts plant performance, air purification, and energy savings while detecting early signs of plant stress, making green walls more reliable and scalable for modern buildings.

H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, the ambassador of Thailand to Israel, has visited the lab on Tuesday, February 24.

The lab is preparing a workshop training for the graduate students of the Samarkand State University in Uzbekistan. 
The training will include operation of advanced remote sensing technologies, as well as construction of MCU-operated low-cost sensor systems. The training is prepared in coordination with Dr. Muhtor Nasirov, Head of International Affairs of the Samarkand University.
Dmitrii and Yonatan are expected to conduct the training in late May.

A delegation of scholars from Bulgaria visited the lab on Monday, January 26.

The delegation of academic leaders from Ivory Coast and Togo visited the Faculty this Wednesday. The visit is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Israeli Embassy in Ivory Coast.
The leaders came from the most renowned institutions in West Africa.
Gabriel and Dmitrii gave the visitors a presentation of the lab's advances.

Following David's visit to Samarkand, Dmitrii and Gabriel gave an online lecture to the students of the university's department of plant science. Dmitrii told about experimental design and tools, while Gabriel introduced the students to remote sensing.

The lab went out for a fun day in Ashkelon National park. We had some great BBQ thanks to Gil, and just had great time. We need to do it more often, right?
