Actual evapotranspiration (ET) retrieved from satellites' vegetation indices
Assessing actual evapotranspiration (ET) at regional to global scale is essential to understand terrestrial water cycle and climate change impacts on ecosystem functioning. Models using satellite information benefit from a continuous spatial and temporal direct observation. We developed an empirical method to assess annual ET at a moderate spatial resolution (PaVI-E) for the entire Eastern Mediterranean zone.
